The diagram is an illustration of the lifecycle of the salmon fish.

The lifecycle begins with spawning [“产卵”，不及物动词] in the upper river, where the water moves slowly. As soon as the eggs are laid among small stones at the bottom of reeds, the incubation [“孵化”，抽象名词] starts, which takes approximately 5 to 6 months.
