托福阅读出题人的心思可以这样猜

在 2015 年托福阅读考试中，which of the following statements is true 类的事实信息题，和NOT／EXCEPT类的否定事实信息题，这两类的题目比重大大增加。做题难点有三：

1.定位难：需要把四个选项与原文的四个信息分别对应，且无序；
2.判断难：需要学生们进行快速判断、排除选项；
3.时间长：做题时间远远长于其他题目。所以我们在讲解这类题目的时候，需要帮助学生们解决分析选项，来把握时间和准确度的问题。

下面是我个人根据托福阅读考察的逻辑关系，从出题人思路把选项进行了逻辑考点的分类和整合。

来看一道 TPO22 阅读真题。

Paragraph 4: Equally perplexing constituents of Allende are the refractory inclusions: irregular white masses that tend to be larger than chondrules. They are composed of minerals uncommon on Earth, all rich in calcium, aluminum, and titanium, the most refractory (resistant to melting) of the major elements in the nebula. The same minerals that occur in refractory inclusions are believed to be the earliest-formed substances to have condensed out of the solar nebula. However, studies of the textures of inclusions reveal that the order in which the minerals appeared in the inclusions varies from inclusion to inclusion, and often does not match the theoretical condensation sequence for those metals.

According to paragraph 4, all of the following are true about the minerals found in the refractory inclusions EXCEPT :

(A) These minerals are among the most resistant to melting of all the major elements in the solar nebula.

(B) These minerals are believed to be some of the first elements to have condensed out of the solar nebula.   

(C) These minerals are among the least commonly found elements on Earth.

(D) These elements occur in the order that scientists would have predicted.

这道题目初步的解题步骤是：
1. 把选项在文中定位；
2. 判断选项正误。

先让我们把这道题目换成比较简单易懂的例子（以下称简单例题），以选项分析为主。
假设原文是一段关于小明的描述。
题目：all of the following are true about 小明 EXCEPT
选项：
（1）小明没有去学校。
（2）小明比小红高。
（3）小明是一个考了 90 分以上的学生。
（4）小明回家之前去了学校。
 
让我们来分析一下这四个选项中的（1）小明没有去学校。
这个选项的定位词可以选择专有名词“小明”“学校”，但是这个选项的正误判断在于“没有去”。即，若原文没有“小明”“学校”，说明这个选项原文未提及，但是若原文中提及“小明”“学校”，那么若表达“去了学校”，则与（1）选项否定矛盾，所以（1）错误，若表达“没有去学校”，为否定，则与（1）选项一致。所以（1）选项的逻辑考点为否定关系。

所 以 来 看 一 下 TPO 真 题 的（D） 选 项 These elements occur in the order that scientists would have predicted. 
定 位 词 可 选“order”“scientists would have predicted”等，定位至原文最后一句话 However, studies of the textures of inclusions reveal that the order … does not match the theoretical condensation sequence for those metals. 其中does not match theoretical sequence 译为不匹配理论上的顺序，为否定，而（D）选项译为科学家们预测的顺序，为肯定，所以（D）选项本身是错误选项。
让我们多看几个选项例子，考点都设置在逻辑关系：否定关系。

例如：
TPO18 中，文章 Industrialization in the Netherlands and Scandinavia 第7 题，According to paragraph 5, each of the following contributed positively to the industrialization of the Netherlands and 
Scandinavia EXCEPT 
A○ generally liberal trade policies
B○ huge projects undertaken by the state
C○ relatively uncorrupt governments
D○ relatively little social or political disruption

其中的（C）（D）选项，逻辑考点设置在“uncorrupt”及“little”。
un-为否定前缀，表示否定关系；little为很少或没有，表示否定关系。

在判断选项正误时，需要重点判断这两个否定关系的正误。而（C）对应原文的句子是 They were reasonably well governed, without notable corruption or grandiose state projects，其中 without 表示否定关系，与（C）一致。（D）对应原文句子是The political institutions of the four countries posed no significant barriers to industrialization or economic growth. 其中 no barrier 表示否定关系，与（D）一致。

总结否定关系的表达

1.明显否定词（not/never）

2.否定前缀（un-/ im-）

3.隐性否定表达（prevent…from…）

回到简单例题，让我们来分析一下四个选项中的（2）小明比小红高。
这个选项的定位词可以选择专有名词“小明”“小红”，但是这个选项的正误判断在于“比…高”。即，若原文没有“小明”“小红”，说明这个选项原文未提及，但是若原文中提及“小明”“小红”，那么若表达“小明比小红矮”，则与（2）选项否定矛盾，（2）错误。所以（2）选项的逻辑考点为比较关系。

所以来看一下 TPO 真题的（A）选项 These minerals are among the most resistant to melting of all the major elements in the solar nebula. 
这个选项的定位词可选“to melting of all the major elements in the solar nebula”考点位于“most resistant to melting”，若这个最的表达与原文一致，则选项为正确。而定位至原文 the most refractory (resistant to melting) of the major elements in the nebula，说明原文也是最的比较关系，所以（A）选项本身正确。
让我们多看几个选项例子，考点都设置在逻辑关系：比较关系。
例如本道真题的（B）（C）选项。选项（B）These minerals are believed to be some of the first elements to have condensed out of the solar nebula. 需要重点判断的逻辑考点在于“first elements”，对应原文的 earliest-formed substances，同样都是比较关系中的最表达，所以选项（B）本身正确。

选项（C）These minerals are among the least commonly found elements on Earth. 需要重点判断的逻辑考点在于“least commonly”，对应原文的“minerals uncommon on Earth”，所以选项（C）本身正确。

所以这道 TPO 真题答案选择（D）选项。

总结比较关系的表达
1.比较级最（～er／most～）
2.相 同／不同（similar）
3. 隐性比较表达（prefer to）
让我们来分析一下简单例题四个选项中的（3）小明是一个考了 90 分以上的学生。选项的逻辑考点放在“”。所以若原文表达为“多种／多个”，则选项为错误。

最后是（4）小明回家之前去了学校。选项的逻辑考点放在“之前”。所以原文应该判断两件事情的时间前后顺序。这两种考点比较简单而且数量少，所以在这里不一一阐述。
